What happens when you connect a 240hz 1440p monitor to PlayStation 5? If monitor has 4K resolution support then you will be able to connect is at 4K 60hz, but that is not actual resolution of the monitor , monitor will still be at 1440p. Since, PS5 cannot output 1440p resolution it will show 4K 60hz. When you play 120fps games your resolution will drop to 1080p 120hz to take advantage of higher refresh rates.
So, yes. you can use your 1440p monitor for 120fps with PS5.
